On May 28, 2025, the Mission Economic Development Corporation, in partnership with the RGV Partnership, hosted the 2025 Commercial & Investment Tour at the Center for Education & Economic Development (CEED). Union Design Developers was proud to be featured as one of the panelists alongside some of the region’s most influential developers and investors.
This dynamic event, produced across various cities in the Rio Grande Valley, serves as a platform for showcasing active and emerging investment opportunities throughout the region. In Mission, the focus was clear: sustainable, strategic growth driven by collaboration between the public and private sectors.
Spotlight on Union Design Developers
Representing Union Design Developers was owner Luis Rodrigo Castillo, who joined a distinguished panel that included:
-
Teclo Garcia, CEO of Mission EDC
-
Ernesto Gonzalez, Arch Renati & Tekna Impact
-
Shavi Mahtani, Domain Development
-
Rolando Ortiz, Killam Development
Castillo shared UDD’s commitment to developing infrastructure-ready land that fuels Mission’s next wave of industrial and residential growth. “We believe Mission is uniquely positioned to attract investment not just from across Texas, but from global partners looking to expand along U.S.–Mexico trade routes,” he said.
The Industrial Park at Anzalduas: A Gateway to Trade and Opportunity
One of the event’s highlights was the virtual tour of The Industrial Park at Anzalduas, a 145-acre master-planned industrial development spearheaded by Union Design Developers. Located just one mile from the Anzalduas International Bridge, the park offers over 6.3 million square feet of shovel-ready, industrial-zoned land in Mission, TX.
With $50 million invested in Phase 1, including infrastructure improvements and site preparation, the park is tailored for logistics, warehousing, advanced manufacturing, and data center development. This strategic location is already drawing attention from national and international companies looking for a launchpad into North American markets.
Strengthening Mission Through Strategic Development
Union Design Developers was founded with a vision to support the Rio Grande Valley’s continued transformation through forward-thinking land development. Every project we pursue — whether industrial or residential — is aligned with local infrastructure plans, municipal goals, and economic incentives that support long-term growth.
From partnering with builders at The Heights at Riverbend II in Brownsville to collaborating with economic development organizations on cross-border logistics infrastructure, UDD remains focused on outcomes that benefit both private investors and the broader Mission community.
Looking Ahead
The 2025 Commercial & Investment Tour underscored what we at Union Design Developers have always known: the City of Mission is open for business — and primed for smart, sustainable growth.
We are proud to stand alongside leading developers and community partners in helping shape the next chapter of Mission’s economic future.
